The ‘Balanced Business Reporting System’, or BBR for short, provides a standardised approach to monthly monitoring and reporting. It is appropriate for franchise businesses moving into the growth stage where responsibility for the focus on the four key areas of running a business (Financial Focus, Operational and Staff Focus, Customer Focus and Business Development Focus) has been delegated to a senior management team. It is designed to help these individuals to report on the previous months performance against their part of the plan and communicate succinctly what they are planning to achieve in the current month.

Individual managers then become more visibly accountable to the business owner and each other, they can’t hide or work in ‘silos’ and the culture of business performance and teamwork is significantly ramped up.

The monitoring should not only relate to the financial performance but also cover the non-financial issues that have been identified as being crucial to the achievement of the company’s business objectives and wellbeing. 

The BBR template is a tried and tested tool and is fully explained in chapter 20 of my book.

A condition of the purchase is that the contents of the BBR system purchased is copyright and it must not therefore be copied, given to or used by any other person or legal entity for use in any other business.
